Creating filters in Gmail

Gmail has a good solution to get rid of annoying emails by giving the facility to create filters for such mails. So you can avoid annoying mails coming in to your inbox or even you can automatically delete them. One other important thing, if you get mails from an unknown sender(not in your contact list) you can mark them as spam. So they will go to the spam section which will be automatically deleted after 30 days. Messages you've already marked as spam will never come in to your inbox unless you mark them as not spam.

Now let's see how we can create a filter for a certain mail. Just follow the steps given below.

1. select the wanted mail.
2. Under the "More Action" click on "Filter messages like these".
3. Click on the button "Next Step".
4. Select the actions you want to perform in your Filter(eg: if you want to delete the mail automatically you can select "Delete it") and click on "Create Filter" button.

That's all try this out and avoid unwanted mails coming to your inbox :)

How to arrange tabs in Google Chrome

When you want to arrange the order of multiple tabs in Google Chrome all you have to do is click on the wanted tab then drag and drop it to the wanted place in the line of tabs. If you want to make a tab a separate window click on that tab, drag it to the middle of the page and drop. Check out the following video for more details.

My favourite thing in Google Chrome

In Google Chrome once you type a keyword in the address bar it gives possible URLs. you don't have to book mark pages or what ever to get this. Check out the following video to understand this more clearly.

Labels in Gmail

Gmail enables us to create labels which do all the work folders do. Once you have created a label you can view all the mails with that label by searching, or
by clicking the label name along the left side of the account page.

You can easily create, edit, and delete existing labels. Let's see how we can do it.

How to create a label

1. select the wanted mails that you need to add the label.
2. Go to label dropdown menu and type the wanted name and press Enter.

By clicking the down arrow on the label you can change the label colour, remove the label colour, rename the label, hide label and delete label.

Also you can go labels tab in settings to hide or remove label.

session restoring for Google Chrome

Google Chrome has lots of features hidden in it. Today I'm
going to show you such a hidden function. This function is called session restoring.

First thing to notice when using Google chrome is we never get a message before closing the browser with many tabs. Then what if we close the browser accidently? How we can restore what we've been browsing? Don't worry because there is an answer to this question :)

We can restore sessions in two simple ways.

1. open the browser again and open a new tab. Underneath the page you can see resently closed label and in it you'll find a link to previously closed tabs. once you click on it the session will be restored.
2. go to settings > options and select "restore the pages that were open last". by doing this the closed tabs will be restored on startup.

I love Google Chrome

Hello everyone. It's been a while since my last post.

FireFox WAS my favourite web browser. It was obvious because most of my blog posts were based on firefox extensions. How ever I was so thrilled when I heard there comes a new firefox version(firefox 3.5). I expected it to be much faster and much reliable version than the previous one. But when I was using it I realized that this is not what I expected it to be. Frankly the previous version was lot more better than this one.

I was fed up with the firefox 3.5 and moved to the Google Chrome web browser. WOW that is the speed and reliability I was looking for. From that day onwards Google Chrome is my No 1 web browser :) . I think you guys also should try it out. I'm sure you gonna love it.
